about

Edgy.

Catchy.

Wise.

Beats.

Profesh.

Groovy.

All these words are embodied by Judith Avers’ long-awaited new album, Walk Steady.

Listening to Judith’s music is living through her in rhythm. She filters life through her soul and distills it into gleaming stones of songs.

Boldly as Judith’s previous albums, Walk Steady explores darkness and light, depravity and internal heroism. She has come full circle with this album, intertwining her I Know Jack (Avers’ first band in Colorado) rock roots, songwriter poetry and over 40 years of contemplation.

Walk Steady is Avers’ most produced and refined collection to date. As Avers has a lifelong career in songwriting, each of her albums has organically built on the previous.

The trail is long and winding; true blue listeners will have more access to Judith’s OG art. The major milestones – I Know Jack, Judith Avers, Greasefire, Jude Live, Strong Hands, Mountain and Shore, God Bless the Brooders, and now - Walk Steady – are unmistakably Judith Avers.

Avers shows us beauty in loss and yearning. She invites the listener to opt for feeling the music rather than interpreting the lyrics. But of course there are lyrical depths to explore once the listener is caught by the tunes.

After experiencing the album, the listener is left feeling and believing her words:

“I never stood my ground. I’ll start now.”

(Side note - this was written by Judith's wife.)

about

Judith Avers Davis, California

I'm a Kansas-born musician now living in California with my wife and our three cats. I've been playing music and writing songs for a long time.
Maybe I should have gone to school for something a little more secure, but now it seems this is the main skill I have to offer. New album out - I hope you like it.
